Student Welfare
I am the Senior Matron Girls Boarding. I joined the School in 2008 having worked with the Civil Service and I have vast experience in institutional management.
My department is responsible for students’ welfare and healthcare whilst in the institution. My duty starts in helping new students settle down and adapt and feel at home away from home in school. We ease them into school boarding life.
We oversee hygiene standards in the sleeping areas by ensuring that they are properly cleaned, ventilated, aerated and therefore habitable and comfortable.
In the event of a student falling sick, parents are informed on the health status. The student is then attended in one of various hospitals such as Meridian Hospital, Aga Khan, Nairobi Women’s Hospital or Karen Hospital depending on indisposition and parent’s instructions or choice.
My mandate includes ascertaining that students are neatly groomed and dressed, and help them in becoming admirable and befitting young lady students. Discipline is part of this.
Simply being a mother to them, and them being my daughters.
Students are provided with hot bathing water.
As a department we endeavor to support the students outside the classroom in the best way possible, not just now but in years to come.
