Job Summary
The school invites applications from qualified and dedicated professionals for the position of English Literature Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature, fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical analysis among students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature in accordance with the national curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools that encourage creativity and analytical thinking.
- Guide students in literary appreciation, essay writing, grammar, and communication skills.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
- Organize and support literary clubs, debates, drama, and other co-curricular activities.
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in English and Literature or a related field.
- TSC registration (Teachers Service Commission) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to appreciate language and the arts.
